I own a small hot dog stand in Oakland, California, so I predictably have a preference toward simple cuisine. I don’t like overly spicy food, so many ethnic cuisines are out. As far as my priorities, after the actual food quality, service and a good attitude are most important; I really appreciate a restaurant staff’s desire to accommodate its patrons. Also, though I am not overly interested in price (cheap or expensive), I do appreciate a good value when I eat out.

I live in Alameda, Ca with my husband Dave and our two cats, Rio and Gus. We’re going to have our first baby in late July/early August!

When I go to a restaurant I like variety. I usually don’t like going to a place we have recently been to. Ambiance and service go a long way for me and I’ll cut the food some slack if I the atmosphere is enjoyable. I will always get butternut squash soup if it is available. I like dishes that involve chicken being stuffed with stuff. Usually I make my dinner choice based on what the main dish comes with, for example a saffron vinaigrette, a crispy polenta cake, or a chive potato puree.
